RAL becomes a member of the German Paint and Printing Ink Association

With effect from January 1st 2019, RAL gGmbH in Bonn has joined of the German Paint and Printing Ink Association (VdL) as an associate member. By taking this step, RAL, especially its business unit RAL COLOURS, whose origins go back to the topics of colour standardisation and industrial painting in 1927, is moving closer to the companies that have been providing precise and standardised colour shades in various formulas for trade, industry and architecture for many decades.

Markus Frentrop, Head of RAL COLOURS says that RAL's membership closes an important gap in the course of the consistent orientation towards a central customer target group. "For RAL COLOURS, the cooperation with VdL means the logical implementation of a decade-long common history in the field of paints and coatings.”

Dr. Martin Engelmann, Managing Director of the VdL, emphasizes: "RAL has been developing colour systems, labels and quality standards for almost 100 years - work that creates trust in colours and coatings. As the German Paint and Printing Ink Association, we also strive for the trust of our members and stakeholders on a daily basis. Therefore, we are happy about the membership and welcome RAL in the middle of our strong association "We are Colour" and RAL belongs to us."

RAL is the applied language of colours. With the RAL CLASSIC and RAL EFFECT colour collections and the RAL DESIGN SYSTEM plus, RAL offers professional colour users a diverse selection of precise colour samples. The range of RAL colours comprises a total of 2,528 shades. With colour fans, plastic standards and software products as well as colour design and trend books, RAL offers the ideal product for any design purpose.
