RAL COLOURS celebrates its 100th anniversary and launches Raw Color Edition
On the occasion of RAL's 100th anniversary, RAL COLOURS is cooperating with the Dutch design agency Raw Color. Under the motto "RAL - 100 Years - Joy of Colour", an anniversary design was jointly developed for the most popular colour fans of the first RAL colour palette - RAL CLASSIC.
The history of RAL colours began 100 years ago with RAL CLASSIC: The first RAL colour chart initially contained a selection of 40 standardised shades with the aim of standardising colours and being able to coat and paint industrial goods in a uniform manner. Over time, the colour palette has grown to 216 shades.
To develop the design, Raw Color researched the history and areas of application of RAL CLASSIC colours, created categories and assigned colour tones to them. The result of the design is a selection of 5 colours representing application areas such as transport, communication technology and security. A description was added to each colour to provide an insight into the historical application context.
The Raw Color anniversary design is now available in a limited edition for the RAL K7, RAL K5 gloss and RAL K5 semi-matt colour fans in the RAL COLOURS online shop and from selected specialist retailers.
To express the special nature of the anniversary, RAL COLOURS is supporting the organisation socialbee in the anniversary year 2025 with a donation for each sale of the anniversary edition via the RAL COLOURS online shop: a donation of €1 will be made to the organisation for each RAL K5 Colour fan and €0.50 for each RAL K7 Colour fan.
